Job summary

About the Position:

This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Department of Pathology,Clinical Pathology Service Honolulu, Hawaii.

Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes performing phlebotomy, specimen handling and processing for testing and shipping purposes; perform inventory and ordering procedures; runs quality control and maintenance checks on various types of laboratory equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education:

One full year (18 semester hours) of progressively higher level of graduate education in a field directly related to the position, such as, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) degrees or Medical Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology. (Note: you must attach a copy of your transcripts.).

Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years ( total semester hours minus 60 ) by 60. Add the two percentages.
