Job summary

Principle Health Systems in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Lead Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT/MLS) to oversee core lab operations and ensure high-quality testing across chemistry, hematology, coagulation and urinalysis.

You will supervise staff, maintain instruments, and ensure CLIA/COLA/CAP compliance while driving process improvements and patient safety. This full-time role offers competitive benefits and an evolving work environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
  • MLT or MT (ASCP/AMT) certification required.
  • 3+ years of clinical lab experience as a generalist.
  • Experience with hematology, coagulation, chemistry, urinalysis, and some microbiology.
  • Previous laboratory leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day Core Laboratory operations across multiple testing areas.
  • Coordinate moderate to high complexity testing; ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, COLA and state regs.
  • Monitor QA/QC to maintain accuracy and precision in testing.
  • Oversee instrument maintenance and policy compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage laboratory staff to promote development and teamwork.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and document follow-ups.
  • Serve as a technical resource for staff and healthcare providers.
  • Help develop and revise laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate procurement of supplies and equipment.
  • Investigate specimens and quality issues; participate in root-cause analysis.
  • Review patient results, including abnormal/critical values, per policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Meet requirements of MT/MLT per job description and participate in inspections.

RESPONSIBILITIES
