Job summary

The Med Lab Scientist 3 at Baylor Scott & White Health performs and monitors a full range of laboratory tests and studies. He/She assists with supervising laboratory operations and assumes responsibility for problem resolution, quality control, and equipment maintenance with minimal supervision.

Based at BSWH Hospital College Station TX in Transfusion, the role requires ASCP MLS certification or equivalent generalist with at least 5 years of blood bank experience.

Qualifications

• ASCP MLS certification or equivalent as a generalist with at least 5 years of blood bank experience.
• Education: Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
• EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience in a clinical lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests in compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Maintains instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and reports results accurately.
• Maintains inventory and communicates with lab staff and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and education activities.
