Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist to analyze laboratory specimens and report results per established protocols. The role provides general supervision over lab activities and requires working with minimal supervision.

Qualified candidates will hold a Nevada State license as general supervisor and ASCP or equivalent certification, with at least four years of MT/CLT experience in a multi-department lab environment.

• Baccalaureate degree in relevant science or equivalent per CLIA’88.
• 4 years MT/CLT experience with general lab responsibilities.
• Nevada state license as general supervisor; ASCP or equivalent board registration.

Job Description

Responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures. Acts as general supervisor over assigned lab activities. Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Education

Baccalaureate Degree in relevant science or equivalent as defined by CLIA’88

Experience

4 years experience as Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Lab Scientist (CLT) with general lab/multi-department experience

Technical Skills

General bench tech skills required to provide coverage in all modalities

License/Certification

Nevada State License as general supervisor required; ASCP or equivalent board registration required.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality of patient care appropriately (specific age competent). Must possess appropriate people skills, organization and attention to detail. Must act as a resource for others.
