Job summary

Penumbra, Inc. in Alameda, CA is seeking a technical lead to design and develop new medical devices and components. You will interface with the project team to oversee R&D, conceptualize, develop, specify, test, and implement new designs.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of engineering and scientific principles.
• Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industry experience desired.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new medical devices and components.
• Perform research and integrate new technologies into existing and future products.
• Identify and utilize vendors in the development of products.
• Provide technical support and perform tasks within project team.
• Evaluate prototypes against performance requirements.
• Interpret and communicate test results.
• Solve practical problems encountered.
• Document findings and recommendations.
• Perform testing to support the design and development of products.
• Train engineers, technicians, and assemblers in new processes and methods.
• Adhere to the Company’s QMS as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.
