Job summary

OrthoAlaska, Orthopedic Physicians Alaska division, seeks a Medical Assistant Lead in Wasilla to optimize the clinical team and deliver high-quality patient care across the practice. Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, personable and caring, and able to help patients feel at ease.
• Understanding of leadership and team principles.
• Able to understand medical charts and diagnoses and coding for billing purposes.
• Able to maintain a calm demeanor when under pressure.
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks and work with a variety of patient care teams.
• Skill in operating a personal computer using a variety of software applications and EHR.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation of the clinical team and serve as a liaison between providers and support staff.
• Evaluate patients to determine appropriate provider and urgency, and assist providers with patient care.
• Collaborate with Walk-In Clinic and Call Center to expedite patient care, referrals, and triage.
• Lead monthly strategic and development meetings with team and implement new concepts.
• Interview, hire, and lead new staff, acting as a role model for established standards, and perform development reviews for members of clinical team.
