Job summary

Quantinuum in Broomfield, CO is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design and industrialization of physics package and MOT sub-systems from concept to production. You will lead design refinement, tolerance analysis, and manufacturability improvements to deliver robust, production-ready hardware. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with remote work up to 2 days per week with approval.

A U.S. Person is required and pre-employment drug testing applies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum.
  • Minimum 7+ years of mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or product development experience.
  • U.S. Person required (citizen, permanent resident, or green card).
  • National security rules restrict applicants who are Chinese or Russian nationals unless they are U.S. citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Own the mechanical design and industrialization of Physics Package and MOT sub-systems from concept to production.
  • Lead design activities including architecture refinement, tolerances, and manufacturability improvements.
  • Serve as technical owner through prototype to manufacturing release and sustained production.
  • Define and validate manufacturing processes for physics packages, MOT, and UHV hardware.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and production workstations for scalable production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition products from development to manufacturing.
  • Maintain product and manufacturing documentation and change orders.
  • Lead investigations and data-driven improvements to performance, quality, and yield.
  • Partner with vendors to meet production rates.
