Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Nashville-based engineering and professional services firm, seeks an experienced Project Manager for the Industrial Power and Process division. The role focuses on large utility generation/distribution systems, with responsibilities in business development, marketing, and project management.

You will guide complex mechanical projects from programming through construction administration, and mentor junior engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience.
• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited school.
• Professional Engineers (PE) license.
• Must have Project Management experience.
• Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
• Knowledge of project approach and system design.
• Willingness to build and maintain relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

• As Project Manager, manage, direct, and supervise project to assure project conforms to time, quality, and cost commitments.
• Deal directly with client to establish project schedules and expectations.
• Coordinate other disciplines to ensure constructability of deliverables.
• Manage mechanical engineering staff to meet project schedules and budget goals.
• Be familiar with and apply applicable codes.
• Assist team leader in manpower projections and scheduling of work.
• Assist team leader in maintaining and developing client base through business development efforts.
• Prepare project write ups, resumes, fee developments for RFP responses.
• Identify prospective clients and establish relationships with those clients.
