Job summary

Zachry Group seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design tasks in the design office for Petrochemical, Chemical, Refining, and LNG projects. You will independently apply standard engineering methods to execute tasks and ensure compliance with project requirements.

The role involves preparing bid documents, budgets, schedules, and technical reviews, with travel to job sites and client/vendor meetings as needed. PE licensure is required.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years experience in Industrial Construction/Services/EPC/LNG sectors.
• PE license required (Professional Engineer).
• Experience leading small teams (2–3 engineers/designers).
• Experience with pumps, pump seals, and compressors.
• Experience with ASME and API standards for rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead specification development for Industrial EPC and LNG projects.
• Prepare man-hour estimates for proposals.
• Manage mechanical budgets and schedules for projects.
• Review vendor documents for compliance with specs and standards.
• Prepare equipment data sheets and full mechanical specs.
• Perform ASME pressure vessel and piping calculations.
• Attend vendor design/fabrication kickoff meetings.
