Job summary

HMH is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Houston to own mechanical projects for surface and subsea drilling components, including BOPs and risers, with emphasis on design, calculations, validation and problem solving.

You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, interface with customers, ensure compliance with API/ASME/BSSE standards, and drive risk assessment, design reviews and continuous improvement under demanding schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 4+ years' experience.
• Proven ability to solve complex, multi-disciplinary engineering problems with limited precedent.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis and evaluation of complex mechanical projects for surface and subsea equipment.
• Serve as technical authority solving design issues with root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate with analysis, materials, manufacturing, and other disciplines.
• Mentor engineers and designers, drive knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve challenges and drive alignment.
• Interface with customers to determine design requirements and provide support.
• Demonstrate leadership in project execution and deliver results on schedule.
• Ensure documentation complies with policies and standards.
• Apply API, ASME, BSSE codes in design decisions to ensure compliance.
• Identify risks and drive mitigation and lessons-learned.
