Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a senior Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to design and review nuclear power plant systems, including modification packages, drawings, analyses, and procurement documents. You will lead project teams, interface with clients, and develop cost estimates for small to mid-sized scopes.

The role emphasizes using data-driven methods, automation, and AI to improve workflows, with a background in codes/regulations and a PE is beneficial.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A minimum of 10 years of applicable experience.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate options for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
• Lead engineering project teams.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.
• Visit client offices and/or plant sites to interface with the client and make presentations related to engineering tasks and status.

Description

You will be involved in nuclear power plant systems design, including preparation or review of:

• Modification packages for operating nuclear power plants
• Functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems

Compensation Range

$118,023 - $180,313
