Wood is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to support day-to-day operations in its Brownfield Engineering group, delivering safe, reliable, and compliant operations for Gulf of Mexico projects. You will guide technical decisions, review MoCs and EQs, and work closely with site teams to reduce risk and optimize performance.

Responsibilities include KPI monitoring, technical documentation, and coaching engineers, with emphasis on leadership and risk mitigation for decommissioning efforts.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering subject.
  • Professional accreditation – Professional Engineer.
  • Significant experience in an Operations Mechanical Engineering leadership and support role.
  • Advanced technical knowledge with sound codes, standards and regulations.
  • Sound stakeholder management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs day to day Mechanical Engineering support to resolve site issues under Operations Manager guidance.
  • Ensures asset Mechanical Engineering risks are understood and mitigated within agreed timeframes.
  • Monitors Mechanical Engineering KPIs and initiates corrective actions as needed.
  • Provides leadership on MoCs and Engineering Queries.
  • Identifies vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities for forecast/growth.
  • Contributes to Site Operations Procedures with technical input.
  • Provides static coaching to Wood and client engineers.
  • Generates, revises, and reviews discipline Technical Documentation.

Wood excels in supporting our clients to deliver on complex brownfield oil and gas decommissioning projects in the Gulf of Mexico.

Responsibilities
  • Performs day to day Mechanical Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working closely with the site team to resolve issues under the direction of the Operations Manager
  • Ensures that asset Mechanical Engineering risks are understood, appropriately risk assessed, and actions driven to reduce risk within agreed timeframe
  • Monitors Mechanical Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiates corrective action as necessary
  • Provides Mechanical Engineering leadership to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs)
  • Identifies vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support forecast and growth
  • Write, review, recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs)
  • Provides static Mechanical Engineering coaching to Wood and client engineers
  • Generates, revises, reviews discipline Technical Documentation
Qualifications
  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering subject
  • Professional accreditation – Professional Engineer
  • Significant experience in an Operations Mechanical Engineering leadership and support role
  • Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations, and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks
  • Sound stakeholder management experience
