Job summary

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical design experience in mobile equipment, heavy equipment, or similar industries.
• Experience with load-sense hydraulics and electro-hydraulic controls preferred.
• Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of mobile drilling equipment and related products. This role provides technical leadership for mechanical and hydraulic systems while supporting engineering, production, and service teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of industrial equipment from concept through production
• Work closely with electric and hydraulic controls engineers to ensure designs are cohesive with mechanical designs
• Generate component drawings and BOMs for all equipment designs to be procured from outside vendors
• Assist production and service departments with the implementation and service of new and existing designs
• Support production, service, testing, and new product development activities
• Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Mentor engineers and designers while promoting engineering best practices
• Drive continuous improvement in product performance, reliability, and manufacturability

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience in mobile equipment, heavy equipment, construction, agriculture, or similar industries
• Experience with Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar 3D CAD software
• Knowledge of load-sense hydraulics and electro-hydraulic controls preferred
• Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
