Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Lead Engineer 1 – Mechanical Component to contribute to the design of highly engineered nuclear plant components. You will create drawings and CAD models, ensure compliance with ASME/CSA/NRC guidelines, and collaborate with GVH partners to advance BWRX-300 SMR projects.

You will manage engineering tasks, support cost and schedule, and interface with procurement, suppliers, and other teams to deliver robust, safe, and compliant designs. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5 years mechanical design experience.
• 2 years experience in the nuclear industry.
• 3 years experience performing component design work to ASME Section III standards.
• 1 year of proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD design.

Responsibilities

• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to standards and requirements.
• Direct people management responsibilities including staffing and performance development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality engineering deliverables.
• Lead small projects with low risks and guide team members toward consensus in technical topics.
• Ensure cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks.
• Perform fundamental engineering calculations and modeling.
