READING BAKERY SYSTEMS in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembly Coordinator to lead our assembly team while staying hands-on with the work.

You’ll organize the day, train and coach the crew, troubleshoot equipment, and move custom bakery machinery from parts and drawings to a complete, working machine. This role requires 5–7 years in industrial mechanical assembly or machine-building, plus the ability to read engineering drawings and obtain forklift certification.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of industrial mechanical assembly or machine-building experience.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and assembly prints.
• Foundational troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
• Ability to lead a hands-on production team on the shop floor.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of mechanical assemblers.
• Set daily priorities and help keep builds on schedule.
• Assemble, fit, align, adjust, and troubleshoot industrial machinery.
• Read and work from engineering drawings, assembly prints, and BOMs.
• Coach team members and help develop their skills.
• Ensure safety, quality, productivity and workmanship on the floor.
