Job summary

Herc Rentals seeks a Mechanic A in Gonzales, LA to lead fleet maintenance and drive diagnostic processes for our branch. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure equipment readiness on the rental fleet.

As a master technician, you will mentor junior mechanics and maintain thorough repair logs, while adhering to safety and procedural standards across branch, region, and national levels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Owns a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Mastery of Mechanic B and C level tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventative maintenance on all Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Operate and test equipment to meet quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment and trucks.
• Handle oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, and diagnostics.
• Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
• Assist shop lead and mentor Mechanic B/C technicians.
