Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Owns a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Demonstrated mastery of Mechanic B and C-level tasks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventative maintenance on branch fleet to ensure readiness.
• Operate and test equipment to meet Herc Rentals quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs independently on all fleet equipment.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, and battery work.
• Recondition and replace parts of heavy equipment as needed.
• Diagnose wear, issues, and safety concerns during inspections.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and thorough repair logs.
• Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
