Job summary

PHI Health is seeking a Maternal Flight Nurse to provide safe, comprehensive care to obstetrical patients during transport. You will lead teams across rotor/ground transports and coordinate care with perinatology specialists.

The role requires an active RN license, 3 years of high-risk obstetrical experience, and NCC obstetrical certification within 2 years of hire. BLS/NRP/ACLS certifications are required, with BSN preferred. Sign-on benefits are offered and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Active State RN license and 3 years high-risk obstetrical care in a tertiary center.
• Nationally certified in NCC – Obstetrical Nursing within two years of hire.
• Current BLS, NRP and ACLS.
• Must complete Maternal Flight Nurse Education Program.
• Must pass pre-placement physical and weight limit per PHI Health policy.
• Previous Maternal Flight Nurse experience, BSN, certification as BLS/NRP/ACLS Instructor preferred.
• Effective human relations skills for interfacing with PHI Health personnel and outside contracts.
• Ability to communicate verbally and clearly in person and by radio.
• Must pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (lift 100 pounds).
• Preference for living within one-hour drive or sixty miles from base.

Responsibilities

• Acts as team leader on transports.
• Performs assessments, diagnosis, therapies and emergency treatment for high-risk maternal/fetal patients.
• Documents information for assessment, treatment and stabilization during transport.
• Documents billing information for transports per PHI Health policy.
• Maintains timely communication with PHI Health management and customers.
• Supports PR/marketing activities for PHI Health and bases.
• Keeps knowledge base for perinatal flight nurse updated through meetings and training.
• Completes all annual competency verifications.
• Maintains active RN license and required certifications.
• Other duties as applicable.
