Job summary

Staples, Inc. is seeking a Lead Material Handling Equipment Operator in our Portland, OR area. You will mentor teammates, replace supervisors as needed, and operate forklifts and other equipment to move goods in a fast-paced warehouse.

You must meet safety standards, lift up to 100 pounds, and wear safety shoes. The role may require overtime and pays $24.00 per hour with full-time/part-time benefits available.

Qualifications

• 12+ months related experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent training/education.
• Ability to pass a drug screen where legally permissible.
• Full-time associates may require overtime based on business needs.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds.
• Must wear safety composite work shoes.
• Ability to walk/stand 100% of the time.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor material handlers and fill in for supervisors as needed.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, electric pallet jacks) safely to move products.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow all safety procedures.
• Contribute to Staples Supply Chain objectives by delivering to customers efficiently.
