About the Role (Job Summary)

We are seeking a Night Lead Material Handler to support and coordinate warehouse operations during overnight shifts. This role combines hands‑on material handling responsibilities with day‑to‑day leadership of warehouse associates to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate receiving, inventory movement, order fulfillment, and shipping activities. The ideal candidate has experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, logistics, or supply chain environment and can effectively lead team members while maintaining productivity, inventory accuracy, and safety standards.

Shift: Sunday, 5pm - until completion, Monday-Thursday, 7pm - until completion.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

• Lead, train, and support Material Handlers during the overnight shift while promoting safety, teamwork, and accountability.
• Coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory movement, order picking, packing, and shipping activities.
• Assign work and balance staffing resources to meet productivity targets, operational priorities, and shipping deadlines.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, track material movement, and utilize RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and material handling equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by enforcing safety procedures, conducting inspections, and reporting hazards or equipment concerns.
• Track operational performance, resolve workflow issues, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and service levels.

Basic Requirements

• Typically 5+ years of related experience.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience using RF scanners, inventory systems, or warehouse management systems (WMS).

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Previous experience serving as a Lead Hand, Team Lead, Trainer, or informal people leader in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial equipment.
• Experience supporting inventory control, cycle counting, and shipping operations.
• Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced distribution center, logistics, or supply chain environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Primarily onsite in a warehouse or distribution center environment. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50lbs throughout the shift. Regular use of warehouse equipment and technology, including RF scanners and material handling equipment. May require overtime, weekends, or holiday work based on operational requirements. No regular travel required.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long‑term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position $19.49 - $32.49
