Job summary

A leading healthcare company in Northborough is seeking a Shipping Lead to oversee daily shipping operations. Responsibilities include coordinating the Shipping Department's completion, assisting clerks, ensuring process adherence, and enforcing safety guidelines. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily completion of the Shipping Department.
  • Assist shipping clerks with communications.
  • Monitor process adherence and submit routes timely.
  • Ensure safety and housekeeping compliance.
  • Monitor and ensure proper processes and timely submission of all routes.
  • Ensure proper safety and housekeeping expectations are enforced daily
  • Experience with power equipment (forklift, stock picker, walkie rider) helpful, but not required selected candidate will be trained to operate all equipment. Must be willing to learn.
  • Inspecting and ensuring quality and accuracy for all shipping goods.
  • Assure the team follows all RF processes and guidelines
  • Lifting of heavy/light weight items safely
  • Performing daily housekeeping tasks, daily equipment inspection completed, and daily pallet Audits.
  • Maintain an organized work area while adhering to all McKesson safety rules and regulations
  • Maintain a professional and positive demeanor while interacting with both internal (put away, picking, inventory…et.) and external customers (drivers, sales…et.)
  • Create a Schedule for all Linehaul Drivers’ runs and
  • Maintain pallet area for minimal dock area congestion
  • Assist the leadership teams throughout all departments in improvement projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Job description

Position: Shipping Lead, Northborough Operations

Hours: 1:00 PM – Completion (Monday – Friday)

Scope: Oversee Shipping functions for both Bulk and LUM outbound freight to ensure quality and delivery to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and assist in the daily completion of the Shipping Department.
  • Assist and support shipping clerks with day-to-day communication on route change and dispatch time
  • Help improve processes to ensure your team member is put in the position to get 100%.
  • Manage team’s indirect time and break times based on workflow.
  • Monitor and ensure proper processes and timely submission of all routes.
  • Ensure proper safety and housekeeping expectations are enforced daily
  • Experience with power equipment (forklift, stock picker, walkie rider) helpful, but not required selected candidate will be trained to operate all equipment. Must be willing to learn.
