Job summary

Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers in Tampa area seeks a Lead Automotive Technician to perform basic and advanced maintenance, inspect vehicles, and troubleshoot to ensure peak performance and customer satisfaction. Report to Store and Service Managers and lead a team during service.

The role requires at least 4 years in automotive service, ASE certification preferred, valid driver’s license, and willingness to work Saturdays or Sundays. Strong diagnostic skills and tool ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of automotive service, automotive mechanic, and/or engine diagnostic experience in a professional capacity.
• Must have Technician Tools and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate and drive vehicles and pass a pre-employment drug test/background screen.
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide strong customer service.
• Willingness to work Saturdays and/or Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Apply in-depth automotive repair knowledge to diagnose and fix vehicle issues.
• Provide service of the highest quality to customers.
• Perform skilled mechanical work, diagnosing problems and repairing as needed.
• Inspect and replace defective parts, and perform preventative maintenance.

Job Description

The Lead Automotive Technician, reporting to the Store and Service Managers, is responsible for performing basic and advanced car maintenance and repair tasks, inspecting vehicles for potential problems, and troubleshooting issues to ensure vehicle is performing appropriately and the customer is taken care of.

Primary Responsibilitiesinclude (but are not limited to):

• Application of in-depth automotive repair knowledge
• Providing service of the highest quality to our customers
• Performs skilled mechanical work while analyzing and diagnosing problems
• Inspect, replace and/or repair defective parts while performing preventative maintenance on automobiles
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s vision, mission, and core values in all interaction with customers, co-workers, managers, and suppliers
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

Qualifications

We are looking for:

• A minimum of 4years’ automotive service, automotive mechanic, and/or engine diagnostic experience in a professional capacity
• ASE Certification preferred,but not required
• Must have Technician Tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to operate and drive vehicles
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Top-notch customer service skills with a desire to build long term trust and relationships with our customers

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and bending
• At time, exerting 50 - 100 lbs of force occasionally and/or 10 - 25 lbs of force frequently and/or greater than 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects
