Job summary

The Penn State Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) seeks a Manufacturing Technology Engineer to lead emerging manufacturing tech efforts for electro-optics and Navy-focused platforms. This role collaborates with ARL teams, Penn State faculty, and U.S. military labs to bring advanced electronics manufacturing into fielded systems.

The position is hybrid with on-site at Freeport, PA and requires up to 25% travel to remote locations; ARL is a DoD SkillBridge partner, and security clearances may apply.

Qualifications

• 14+ years of electronics or electro-optics manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
• Clear communication, documentation, and results presentation.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science required.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing technology R&D projects for US military systems.
• Plan and manage concurrent tasks to meet contract goals.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and military labs to accomplish goals.
• Prepare and present briefings and reports to diverse audiences.
• Develop and maintain a vision for electronics manufacturing efforts.
