Job summary

Phoenix Tailings in Exeter, NH is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to build and scale our rare earth metals production with hands-on leadership.

You will own equipment architecture, process capability, throughput, reliability, and cost, while building the manufacturing engineering team and establishing standards, trials, and production-ready methods for a new domestic rare earths industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in manufacturing/ process/ production/ equipment engineering.
• Experience leading development, scale-up and improvement of complex systems.
• Experience building/managing manufacturing engineering teams in growth mode.
• Strong experience with equipment specification, commissioning, qualification and ramp-up.
• Deep experience with root-cause analysis and process optimization.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, CAD, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, scale-up, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for rare earths and critical metals.
• Own the manufacturing engineering strategy for major production systems including equipment architecture and tooling.
• Lead installation, commissioning, qualification and ramp-up of new production equipment.
• Build and develop the manufacturing engineering team and establish technical standards and practices.
• Drive root-cause investigations and durable engineering solutions to improve stability.
• Define process requirements, operating windows, and technical acceptance criteria for new technologies.
• Lead engineering trials, process validation, scale-up studies and capability assessments.
• Use data and capacity analysis to identify constraints and prioritize investments.
