Job summary

Eaton’s Power Components Division is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer for a hybrid role at Moon Township, PA. You will lead manufacturing and industrialization for NPI projects, develop robust processes, and collaborate with design, quality, and suppliers to ensure successful launches and sustainable production.

The position requires a bachelor’s in engineering and at least 5 years in engineering/manufacturing, with relocation support for US-based candidates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience including manufacturing.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead industrialization activities for NPI and PLS projects from development through production release.
  • Provide manufacturing input to design decisions to improve manufacturability, cost, and quality.
  • Drive Industry 4.0 practices for manufacturing of NPI projects.
  • Lead tooling, test equipment, fixtures, and capital asset procurement.
  • Lead prototype and pilot builds.
  • Validate products and processes meet requirements and support yields and issue resolution.
  • Develop and deploy process controls, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Analyze data using DFSS, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies.
  • Manage product costs and capital forecasts and support CI initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop engineers to strengthen industrialization capabilities.

Job description

Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer. This is a hybrid position (3 days on-site, 2 days remote per week) based at our Moon Township, PA location. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates currently residing within the US/PR.


The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year.

What You’ll Do

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will lead manufacturing and industrialization activities for new product introduction (NPI) projects, from early development through release for production. This role will drive the development, validation, and implementation of robust manufacturing processes to ensure successful product launches and sustainable production. The position will also provide technical manufacturing input for existing products and designs, working closely with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers to enable efficient industrialization, manage technical and schedule risks, and meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead industrialization activities for NPI and PLS projects from development through release for production.

  • Provide manufacturing input to design decisions to optimize manufacturability (DFM), testability (DFT), cost, quality, and component lifecycle robustness.

  • Drive adoption of Industry 4.0 practices for manufacturing for NPI projects.

  • Lead specification and procurement of tooling, test equipment, fixtures, and capital assets.

  • Lead prototype and pilot builds.

  • Validate products and processes meet functional, regulatory, and performance requirements, support yield and issue resolution.

  • Develop and deploy process controls, work instructions, test procedures, and operator training.

  • Analyze early products and process data using DFSS, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies.

  • Manage product costs and capital forecasts for NPI and PLS programs and support cost reduction initiatives and Continuous Improvement (CI) programs.

  • Mentor and develop engineers and peers to strengthen industrialization capabilities.


Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering including experience in manufacturing

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s in manufacturing or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution

  • Experience developing and deploying production tooling and test fixtures

  • Experience with shop floor control systems and technologies supporting products traceability, serialization, and data collection

  • Experience leading NPI and industrialization activities


Skills


  • Working knowledge of manufacturing quality tools, including process capability studies, gage R&Rs, and yield analysis

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE), and Lean Manufacturing as applied to manufacturing and test

  • Working knowledge of components, production tooling, test fixtures, assembly equipment, part and assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs)
