Lead Manufacturing Engineer based in Greater Los Angeles Area
Pay Range: $100,000-120,000
This prominent defense contractor plays a vital role in developing and manufacturing systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Located in Southern California, the organization comprises divisions focused on engineering, testing solutions, and land systems. The company is involved in designing and producing military Alternate Mission Equipment, armament test equipment, and specialized power and thermal management systems. Their work spans various programs and platforms, collaborating with major military contractors in the defense industry.
This position requires a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, focusing on mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies. Experience with large complex metallic and electromechanical components, as well as some CNC machining, is essential.
The role involves reviewing customer engineering requirements and drawings to assess manufacturability, creating manufacturing plans and bills of materials (BOMs), and working with manufacturing personnel to improve processes. You will troubleshoot assembly and machining issues, implement time-saving measures, and ensure product quality and certification standards are maintained or improved. Flexibility to work in fast-paced environments and both independently or in teams is required.
