Job summary

First Quality is seeking a Lead Electromechanical Technician for its Home Care Products division in Salt Lake City, UT. This role provides day-to-day electrical and mechanical support for large industrial machines, leading preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair efforts to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment, an associate-level credential in electronics or electromechanical fields, and the ability to work standing

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Associates in Electronics or Electromechanical Tech certification or Industrial Mechanic certification preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining large industrial machines.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time, up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs frequently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical-mechanical machines in manufacturing facility.
  • Perform changeover activities on large mechanical equipment.
  • Perform repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate with other technicians in daily support of serving and repairing manufacturing equipment.
  • Document actions, parts, and time usage to work orders.
  • Identify safety/quality improvements and implement them.

Lead Electromechanical Technician – First Quality Home Care Products, Salt Lake City, UT

This position is responsible for day-to-day electrical and mechanical support for large industrial machines. This includes providing leadership, organizing work, performing scheduled Preventative Maintenance, responding to down equipment by troubleshooting and making necessary repairs and completing of scheduled workorders.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot and maintain the electrical-mechanical machines in manufacturing facility
  • Perform changeover activities on large mechanical equipment
  • Perform repairs on equipment as needed
  • Coordinate and work with other technicians in the daily support of serving and repairing manufacturing equipment
  • Documents actions, parts, and time usage to workorders
  • Identifies, advises, and implements safety/Quality improvements
  • Ability to learn production equipment processes and operations to aid in machine troubleshooting and operation support
  • Performs basic troubleshooting for electrical problems with single phase and 3 phase motors, wiring and controls
  • Decipher information from equipment manuals and schematics to troubleshoot various types of equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform evaluations of new technologies with potential application as a new process or as a modification to existing equipment.
  • Assist engineers, production managers, and technologists and lead in assessing the impact of equipment malfunction.
  • Support the plant SIM processes
  • Work with Cross functional teams
  • Other duties requested by supervisor as needed

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • 2-5 years of experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment.

  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time, up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to frequently climb ladders and stairs.
  • Must be able to climb on and around equipment, which includes bending, stooping, standing, walking, crawling, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Must be able to see/hear to visually and audibly troubleshoot equipment, acknowledge alarms, and perform inspections.
  • Must be able to sustain repetitive movement of the upper and lower extremities.
  • Must be able to grip, grasp, push, and pull with varying degrees of force.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE including hearing protection, ANSI safety shoes, safety glasses, respirators, and all other required PPE.
