Job summary

Olympia Hospitality is seeking a maintenance professional to keep the North Conway Grand Hotel in top condition, performing preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.

The role may involve directing other maintenance staff, delegating tasks, and teaching proper methods and safety practices. A path to advancement toward Chief Engineer is highlighted.

Qualifications

• Provide high level customer service, communicate effectively with guests and team members, follow instructions, ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressure.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and basic computer skills; must be able to adapt to utilizing technology such as Alice; share knowledge and teach others to perform tasks.

This position contributes to the hotel’s commitment to high quality guest satisfaction and teamwork by safely and efficiently maintaining the property i.e. performs preventative maintenance; repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment. The employee may direct the work of other maintenance staff, delegating tasks and instructing them in the methods, practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in a variety of building and mechanical trades.

Skills Required:

Technical:

• Solid experience performing repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment
• General carpentry skills; knowledge and use of basic hand and power tools required
• Certified Pool Operator (if property has pool or water park)
• Ability to safely and correctly use poser tools and equipment; know the occupational hazards, and be knowledgeable of required safety precautions

Experience / Education

• Minimum 2 year of general building maintenance or equivalent in a trade profession; Vocational School Certification preferred
