Job summary

CGL Facility Management, LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Chief Maintenance Engineer to oversee the technical maintenance program and lead the maintenance staff on site.

The CME will perform and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance across HVAC, electrical, gas, life safety, and other building systems, ensuring OSHA compliance and high service standards. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 4-6 years skilled maintenance and/or commercial experience required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and as-built drawings.
  • Experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance systems.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews job requests and work orders daily to determine workload priorities.
  • Assigns work to staff and monitors progress towards completion.
  • Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, gas, life safety, and other systems.
  • Performs routine facility inspections for operational and safety standards.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies for operations.
  • Keeps client and regional management informed of progress and status of work orders.
