Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a skilled Metal Part Machining professional to read engineering blueprints, select tooling, and program/setup CNC equipment for precise metal parts. The role involves inspecting finished parts with precision instruments and maintaining tooling and machines.

The candidate will work within established processes, perform manual tasks, and support complex assignments with limited supervision. Safety and quality are emphasized across shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires Vocational/Technical Training Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience with CNC machinery and precision metrology.
• Exposure to multiple machining processes and tools.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates parts by operating mechanical equipment.
• Reads blueprints and specifications to determine precise dimensions and tolerances.
• Selects and operates tools to cut, shape, or finish metal, plastics, or composites.
• Sets up, services, and maintains equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Uses precision measuring instruments to verify machined parts.
