Wabtec Corporation is seeking a seasoned Global Sourcing professional to lead strategy for machined parts within the Castings and Machined Parts team. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance to shape supplier relationships and drive cost efficiencies across the supply base.

The role emphasizes risk management, dual sourcing, long‑term contracts, and supplier performance reviews. You will monitor market trends, manage RFQs, and negotiate terms to improve working capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (Candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience in sourcing, supply chain, or program management may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, fulfillment, or program management
• Experience with machined parts or heavy industrial commodities is a strong plus
• Proven analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with other data tools is beneficial
• Broad understanding of supply chain functions, including procurement, operations, fulfillment, quality, and engineering processes
• Demonstrated negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

Responsabilités

• Lead cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations and optimization of landed costs, including logistics and tariff management
• Improve working capital by negotiating extended supplier payment terms
• Support fulfillment and quality objectives by conducting supplier performance reviews, recovering defect‑related costs, driving root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to eliminate premium freight and ensure timely PO confirmation
• Forecast key financial metrics including deflation, tariffs, expense/investment spend, and cash improvement
• Collaborate across business units to identify and execute synergy savings opportunities
• Develop and execute long‑term global sourcing strategies for assigned sub‑commodities
• Ensure supply continuity and competitiveness by maintaining dual sourcing and negotiating long‑term strategic agreements
• Partner with operations and commercial teams to prioritize cost‑out efforts for key products and programs
• Monitor market indices and trends to inform sourcing decisions and drive proactive action plans
• Manage RFQs, evaluate supplier offers, negotiate terms, and execute contracts
• Lead contract amendments and re‑negotiations as needed
• Escalate and resolve major supplier issues once elevate

Our Global Sourcing team plays a critical role in managing Wabtec’s global supply base and negotiating strategic agreements that align with the company’s long‑term vision. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across engineering, operations, and finance, as well as with external suppliers, to shape and execute sourcing strategies that enable operational excellence and deliver value to both the business and our customers.

How will you make a difference?

As a key member of the Castings and Machined Parts team within our Global Sourcing Organization, you will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for the machined parts commodity. This role requires a strategic mindset to build strong supplier relationships, proactively manage risk, and drive cost efficiencies across the supply base. You will be responsible for evaluating supplier capabilities, reliability, and quality to ensure alignment with Wabtec’s operational and performance goals.

The salary rate for this role is currently $79100-112800 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
