Job summary

Genpak is seeking a Manufacturing Operator in a fast-paced facility. You will run all department machines, assist with overtime, and support breaks for operators while maintaining production records in Excel.

You’ll ensure pelletizers run continuously and manage changeovers with proper PPE and safety compliance. Applicants should have at least one year of manufacturing experience, strong math and communication skills, and hold forklift and lockout/tagout certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year manufacturing experience.
• Good math, reading and writing skills.
• In-house forklift certification and lockout/tagout training.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to run all machines in the department.
• Assist in scheduling department overtime.
• Relieve breaks for operators.
• Input 2-hour production totals in Excel.
• Oversee grinding room to ensure cleanliness and rolls are ground.
• Assist with cutter report.
• Ensure pelletizers are running at all times.
• Monitor silo pads and vacuum pad for cleanliness.
• Ensure hoses are connected to correct silos during changeovers.
• Monitor operators check lists.
• Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.

Job description

Ability to operate on any of the Extruders and repel lines generally unassisted. Able to communicate quality issues, complete required documentation, e.i. profile and daily material reports. Report machine malfunctions and ensure good quality sheet. Performs work under Shift Supervisor with final approval by the Extrusion Manager/ Assistant Production Manager. Be committed to SQF, GMP and Food Safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be able to run all machines in the department.
• Assist in scheduling department overtime.

14.Employees may wear corrective lenses (with protective safety over glasses) PPE or use our Safety Prescription Program (Ask your HR Representative).

15.Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

SAFETY:

1. Compliance with all facility rules and regulations.
2. Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their Supervisor.
3. Maintain floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities.
4. Communicate to Management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures.
5. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)/properly and reporting any defective PPE.
6. Report all near misses, accidents, injuries, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employees will be working in a Manufacturing and/or Warehouse environment in all types of weather.

Conditions may range from and include : hot, cold, humid, loud, working near airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic.
