Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in Houston, TX is seeking a Lead Machine Operator to oversee the shipping line personnel and workflow, reporting to the Production Supervisor.

You will maintain safety, quality, and efficiency priorities, operate machines to drill holes, cutouts, temper or laminate glass panels, read labels and drawings, and complete daily worksheets.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Lead Machine Operator is focused on handling the shipping line personnel as well as the shipping work flowand reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency), strong work ethic/reliability, and is a problem solver. A vital member of the IGDepartment, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Job responsibilities include:

• Ensure that all personnel, prior to start of shift, are wearing the correct safety equipment and that safety awareness is maintained.
• Set up a machine to drill holes, cutouts, temper or laminate glass panels according to work orders, fabrication sheets, and schedules.
• Read labels, sketches, system programs and perform spatial visualization interpretation.
• Complete daily work sheets and forms, calculating and measuring for hole size and placement.
• Perform different job functions on a rotating basis.

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels.
• Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure.
• Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule including working weekends as necessary.
• One year of previous work experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or production facility, preferred.
