Job summary

Place Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a Lead Low Voltage Technician for a project in Atlanta, GA. You will install structured cabling, including Cat-6/6A and fiber, and mount and connect access control, video surveillance, intrusion, and fire alarm devices.

Lead a crew of up to five technicians; collaborate with a project manager on site to ensure smooth project execution and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NICET, NEC, TIA/EIA) and prior work on large construction site projects.
• Troubleshooting and repairing network and controls systems.
• Low voltage cabling and device installation skills.
• OSHA-30 card; manufacturer certifications are a plus.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. alone and 100 lbs. with assistance; outdoor work and ladders.

Responsibilities

• Install Structured Cabling Systems including Cat-6/6A and fiber with testing and certification.
• Install and connect Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion, and Fire Alarm devices; assist with system startup.
• Terminate cabling at patch panels and faceplates; perform testing per spec.
• Manage a crew of up to five technicians on typical projects.
• Coordinate with Project Manager or Site Superintendent on all assignments.

Position Overview

Place Services, Inc. has an immediate need for aLead Low Voltage Technicianfor our project in Atlanta, GA.

We’re looking for a technician with extensive experience installing Structured Cabling and additional experience mounting and connecting end devices for Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion, and Fire Alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• This candidate will focus on installing Structured Cabling Systems to include Category 6/6A, single mode and multi-mode fiber cable, Telecom Room build-out, Data Center build-out, and all associated testing and cable certification.
• Additional experience is required around installing and connecting Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion, and Fire Alarm end devices and assisting the Systems Tech with system startup.
• Needs experience installing a wide range of low voltage cabling to include Cat-6/6A jack terminations at patch panels and faceplates; some manufacturer’s or BICSI Installer certification is a plus.
• Will be responsible for managing a crew of up to five technicians and installers on typical project assignments.
• Will work with a project manager or an on-site superintendent on all assigned projects

Qualifications

• Candidate should demonstrate a knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NICET, NEC, TIA/EIA) and must have prior work experience on large construction site projects working under the supervision of a Project Manager and/or Superintendent and with all trades
• Troubleshooting and repairing network and controls systems
• Low voltage cabling and device installation skills
• Holds OSHA-30 card; manufacturer’s certifications are a plus
• The ability to lift 50 lbs. alone / transfer 100 lbs. 12 feet with the help of another person
• The ability to work outdoors in diverse environments andto ascend and descend ladders and/or other elevated structures
