Job summary

Walgreens is seeking an experienced pharmacy leader to manage the pharmacy department operations and ensure high-quality patient service. You will oversee workflow, inventory, and compliance while driving pharmacy sales and asset protection across the site.

You will lead staffing, scheduling, and training to maintain regulatory standards and optimize third-party reimbursement. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and excellent provider relationships within the Walgreens network.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institute.
• Current pharmacist license in the states within the district.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
• Has completed specialized training regarding medication and disease state or has sufficient practical experience that is necessary to provide specialized services offered at clinic location (HIV, Organ Transplant, Oncology, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Manages the operation of the pharmacy department.
• Improves prescription numbers, pharmacy sales, profit, and image through accurate filling and courteous service.
• Reports prescription errors and adheres to Quality Improvement Program.
• Maintains inventory reporting for limited distribution drugs (LDD).
• Complies with federal/state laws and company policies; maintains records and reports.
• Manages third-party pharmacy systems to reduce payment rejections and resubmit claims.
