Job summary

ASRC Federal is seeking a seasoned Systems Administrator – Lead (Linux) to own the Linux/UNIX environment for Army command-and-control mission systems at the Pentagon. You will direct administration, security posture, and availability, mentoring junior staff and coordinating cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, 8+ years IT experience including 5+ years Linux admin, DoD/C2 experience preferred, and on-site work in Washington, DC with occasional

Qualifications

• Eight+ years IT experience with five+ years Linux/UNIX administration.
• Experience administering Linux in a complex enterprise network.
• Knowledge of IA/IT security controls, STIGs and ACAS.
• Experience with SAN storage, backups, and fault-tolerant tech.
• Experience as technical lead or senior escalation point.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, tune, patch, and sustain Linux/UNIX OS across the enclave.
• Troubleshoot OS, applications, databases, email systems, and data interfaces to root cause.
• Administer Linux systems in a multi-layered network environment.
• Apply and validate IA/IT security controls, including STIG and ACAS remediation.
• Monitor, detect intrusions, and escalate per incident response procedures.
• Administer SAN storage, backups, and fault-tolerant technologies.
• Develop and maintain installation/configuration/operating procedures; update standards.
• Mentor junior admins and serve as day-to-day Linux/UNIX point of contact.
