Job summary

Avangrid is seeking a NYSEG Line Mechanic 1/C for a location in Lancaster, NY. The role handles the most complex construction and maintenance on energized lines, requiring deep knowledge of polyphase transformers, phasing, switching, and meter services.

The candidate should have at least three years as a Second-Class Lineman, strong electrical fundamentals, and a valid driver license. The position is on-site with hourly pay in the $61.68–$62.68 range and opportunities to work under Avangrid

Qualifications

Three years' experience as Second-Class Lineman or equivalent.
Able to perform routine operations of moderate complexity as instructed.
Good knowledge of line practices and transmission/distribution lines.
Must qualify for automobile operator's license.

Responsibilities

Perform the most complex construction and maintenance work on energized conductors, structures, and equipment.
Install transformer equipment; perform phasing and phase rotation on polyphase circuits; do switching and sectionalizing as required.
Install, remove, connect or disconnect electric and/or gas meters and services as needed.
Perform other related and less skilled work, including operation of transportation equipment.
Direct work of other Linemen or Groundmen as assigned.
