Job summary

Bend Park & Recreation District is seeking Lifeguards at the Juniper Swim & Fitness Center and Larkspur Community Center. Lifeguards help ensure safety and enjoyment for guests as part of a professional team, with Lifeguard 2 providing guidance and deck supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age OR 15 years of age with BPRD JR Lifeguard program
• Currently attending high school
• Any satisfactory combination of experience and training

Responsibilities

• Maintain the 10/20 Protection Rule and respond to emergencies within specified times
• Enforce facility and public health rules and regulations
• Maintain lifeguard certifications and attend monthly in-service training
• Lead Lifeguard 1 staff on assigned shifts and assist with deck supervision
• Assist with pool setup and program needs
• Perform cleaning, maintenance and locker room duties
• Communicate with patrons and staff in a courteous manner
• Participate in district-wide special events
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
