Job summary

TriHealth Findlay Community Hub in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Lead Lifeguard to oversee pool safety, mentor fellow lifeguards, and ensure exceptional customer service for members and guests of all ages.

You will monitor activity, coordinate rescue response, support daily pool operations, and promote healthy, active lifestyles while building relationships in the community. This role offers a chance to lead a team and make a meaningful impact every day.

Qualifications

  • American Red Cross lifeguard certification, First Aid, CPR, AED.
  • YMCA lifeguard or other certifications may be accepted.
  • Knowledge and demonstration of basic rescue technique.
  • Excellent swimming skills including ability to swim 300 meters using the 5 basic strokes.
  • Up to 1 year experience one season or summer of lifeguard experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor pool activity and ensure safe practices.
  • Rescue/assist those in need and provide instruction to participants.
  • Maintain a clean pool environment and assist with day-to-day operations.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to other lifeguards.

As a Lead Lifeguard at the Findlay Community Hub, you will play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable aquatics experience for members and guests of all ages. In addition to maintaining a vigilant presence and responding confidently during emergencies, you will help mentor and support fellow lifeguards, assist with day-to-day pool operations, and promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and exceptional customer service. Job Overview

This position is responsible to monitor pool activity and facilitate safe and appropriate pool practices, to rescue/assist those in need and provide instruction to participants, to maintain a clean pool environment. Team participation and member interaction are also included. This position, as the lead, provides oversight, coaching, and work direction to other lifeguards as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities
  • Creates a positive work environment and establishes relationships with key patients/customers, physicians, departments, and staff.   • Promote safety of pool area, needed rescue/prevention of accidents and injuries. Informs management of safety hazards as they may arise. Communicates with management staff regarding problems and concerns of members and participates in record keeping of the department.
  • Picks up extra time to meet department needs. Changes assignments if needed.
  • Creates a positive work environment, regularly assists coworkers, gives positive feedback when appropriate, and acts as a mentor to new employees/students.
  • Actively motivates and assists members with their swimming proficiency and overall fitness goals. Maintains order by aiding members in appropriate lane selection. Lifeguard is responsible for adding lanes depending on the number of participants for water fitness classes.
  • Actively maintains clean pool areas by performing the following as needed: scrubbing pool scum line, hosing pool decks, wiping down pool ladders and drinking fountains, and keeping drains free of debris
