Job summary

Responsibilities include supervising staff, assisting veterinarians during exams and procedures, managing anesthesia, dentistry, and diagnostics, and maintaining accurate medical records with strong client communication.

Qualifications

• Licensed/Certified/Registered Veterinary Technician credential required.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical veterinary experience.
• Prior leadership or mentorship experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, dentistry, laboratory procedures, and radiology.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to technicians and assistants to promote skill growth and engagement.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and mentoring new team members.
• Partner with leadership to schedule staff based on case load and skills.
• Serve as a clinical resource for best practices in patient care and client communication.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries with proper restraint and monitoring.
• Perform advanced procedures including venipuncture, intubation, anesthesia induction and monitoring, dental prophylaxis, and lab diagnostics.
• Administer medications and vaccines per veterinarian instructions following DEA and OSHA regulations.
• Operate radiology and ultrasound systems with safety and quality control protocols.
• Maintain medical records, charge capture, and client education documentation.
• Oversee inventory control, ordering, and vendor relations with the Practice Manager.
• Identify workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and client experience.
• Contribute to hospital policy implementation to maintain quality standards.
• Lead by example in a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment.
• Provide patient care and client education on treatment plans and preventative care.
