SUMMARY
The Lead Laundry Attendant reports directly to the Laundry Supervisor. This position acts as the Laundry Supervisor's second in command, providing hands‑on leadership, guidance, and oversight to Laundry Attendants while ensuring daily laundry operations run efficiently and in accordance with Rolling Rock Club standards. The Lead Laundry Attendant should be willing to learn and support the team as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as the daily point of contact for Laundry Attendants, providing direction, support, and task prioritization in the absence of the Laundry Supervisor.
- Oversees the workflow of the laundry room during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency, fairness, and quality of work in the absence of the Laundry Supervisor.
- Leads by example, modeling proper procedures, safety standards, and professional conduct.
- Communicates staffing needs, performance concerns, and operational updates to the Laundry Supervisor.
- Assure all assignments are completed correctly and in line with expectations of the Club.
- Assists in maintaining consistent uniform pars for departments across the Clubhouse.
- Works alongside the Laundry Supervisor to forecast accurate linen needs for Clubhouse functions.
- Assists in training staff within the Club's guidelines and cultures.
- Trains cross departmentally to assist housekeeping staff as needed.
- Promotes teamwork and cooperation among staff and with other operational departments.
- Maintains good inter‑departmental and employee relations.
- Works daily towards maintaining a positive work environment for the laundry team.
- Handles member requests in a positive and timely manner.
- Be anticipatory of member needs and respond to member inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Works alongside the team to ensure a clean work environment in the laundry room.
- Always observe safe facility practices.
- Distributes checklists to the laundry room team as necessary.
- Train new staff to be compliant with quality assurance expectations.
- Assists in daily operations as needed, which include, but are not limited to, cleaning out employee lockers and separating linens daily.
- Completes a weekly inventory of laundry supplies to ensure that PAR levels are being maintained.
- Maintains positive relationship with suppliers and vendors.
- Communicates maintenance issues or repair of items related to the laundry room to the Laundry Supervisor.
- Must maintain professional etiquette with all Club members and other team members.
- Maintains professional appearance and conduct always exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor.
- Respects the Club's customs and traditions and works to preserve Rolling Rock Club as a "quiet country English Manor".
- Performs other incidental and related duties as may be required and assigned.
- Maintains regular, consistent and reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Prior experience as a Laundry Attendant or in a similar hospitality support role.
- Following guidance and direction from management effectively, efficiently, and appropriately.
- Must be able to work weekends and have a flexible work schedule.
- Strong communication skills.
Skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to multi‑task and prioritize work, both with a team and independently.
- Exhibits good communication and organization.
- Ability to problem‑solve and react quickly to any issues which arise during a shift.

Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (8‑10 hours consistently).
- Requires exposure to temperatures ranging from hot to cold.
- Availability and understanding that the position often requires hours in excess of a standard workweek (40‑50 hours).
