Job summary

Southeast Dubois County School Corporation seeks a Junior Varsity Head Baseball Coach to lead and supervise the junior/senior high baseball program at Forest Park Jr/Sr High School. The coach will be responsible for implementing policies, scheduling events, and coordinating with the athletic director and building principals.

The role emphasizes teaching fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training while modeling integrity, sportsmanship, and positive student development.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience.
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and must stay current with new theories and procedures.
• Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Has thorough knowledge of athletic policies and ensures staff adherence.
• Understands regulations and interprets them for staff.
• Follows proper channels for requests or grievances and attends meetings as required.
• Assists athletic director with scheduling, transportation, and tournament coordination.
• Coordinates facility times and prepares for events, ensuring staff and facilities are ready.
• Mentors athletes to promote character traits such as trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
