Job summary

UC San Diego seeks an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Technologist/Senior Technologist to monitor nervous systems during brain, spine and vascular surgeries, under supervision of neurophysiology staff. Responsibilities include EEG/EMG/evoked potentials, patient prep and quality follow-up.

The role requires ABRET CNIM within two years; Sr level prefers 4–6 years CNIM in tertiary hospital care. May train staff and lead program operations as needed.

Qualifications

• ABRET CNIM certification or within 2 years of hire; CNIM required for Sr role.
• Current BART or BLS at time of hire with plan to obtain BART within 6 months.
• 2+ years CNIM level surgical neurophysiology experience; Sr requires 4-6 years.
• Experience in EEG, EMG, SSEP, tcMEP, AEP for diverse cases.

Responsibilities

• Monitor nervous system during complex brain/spine/vascular surgeries.
• Assist in inpatient EEG service and evoked potentials as needed.
• Train entry-level technologists and support program operations.
• Lead and participate in scheduling and care quality activities.
