Job summary

Cuningham in Denver seeks a Certified Project Interior Designer with a strong interior architecture background to lead design through all project phases, developing solutions and documentation that meet intent and codes. You will guide small to medium-scale projects and manage teams in a collaborative design environment.

This role requires NCIDQ certification, 7+ years of experience, and the ability to coordinate interiors with architecture, produce construction documents, and present concepts

Qualifications

• NCIDQ certification or equivalent interior design certification required.
• 7+ years of professional interior design experience leading projects through all phases.
• Multi-market experience across workplace, hospitality, entertainment, healthcare, education, and more.
• Strong interior architecture background with coordination across architectural systems and documentation.
• Experience producing and coordinating construction documents with strong knowledge of codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development, coordination, and production for small to medium projects through all phases.
• Drive iterative, collaborative design processes aligned with project success metrics.
• Lead client communication and manage expectations with clear feedback loops.
• Develop interior design concepts and presentations across all project phases.
• Oversee finish, material, lighting, and furniture selections with specifications teams.
• Produce and review drawings, redlines, and ensure alignment with design intent.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and support permitting processes.
• Participate in construction administration including site visits, RFIs, and submittals.
• Identify project risks and escalate concerns to project leadership.
• Mentor junior staff and support development opportunities.
