Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory in the United States seeks an instructional designer for the Naval Training team. You will support the current and Next Generation Training Program, helping Navy personnel qualify as nuclear propulsion plant operators while shaping curriculum development and evaluation.

You will coordinate with NNPTC, NRHQ, and Navy personnel to revise training materials, objectives, and manuals, ensuring rigorous standards and effective delivery across the fleet.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 13 years of relevant experience, or an associate's degree with 11 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with 9 years of relevant experience, or a master's with 7 years, or a doctorate with 3 years.
  • Experience aligning training programs to naval propulsion curricula and standards.
  • Ability to develop learning objectives and qualification requirements for next generation training.
  • Ability to coordinate revisions to manuals and curriculum with Navy and NNPTC teams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze current Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program objectives to optimize curriculum for NGTP.
  • Develop learning objectives and qualification requirements for the Next Generation Training Program.
  • Assist with a major revision to current Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program manuals.
  • Coordinate with Navy and NNPTC to revise computer aided instruction and lesson plans to meet NGTP objectives.
