Job Description - Lead Instructional Coach (226 Days): GRANT FUNDED (25000197)

Position Overview

The Lead Instructional Coach is responsible for providing targeted support to campuses in core content areas. This role involves collaborating with teachers, administrators, Academic Services, and School Leadership to promote educational equity through comprehensive support for teachers and teacher leaders. The coach will deliver content-specific coaching, data analysis, and instructional support to Title 1 campuses to enhance teacher effectiveness and student outcomes. Additionally, the coach supports curriculum alignment and instructional capacity building across regions to foster student achievement and leadership development.

Coaching and Professional Development

  • Represent the district’s instructional philosophy and frameworks in all professional development, coaching, and curriculum support activities.
  • Model and provide targeted feedback on coaching methodologies and content related to the district’s instructional programs and student achievement.
  • Implement effective coaching strategies, including Cognitive Coaching and Content-focused Coaching.
  • Offer feedback to teachers and campus leadership to promote reflection and instructional growth.
  • Support content area expertise and strengthen coaching skills to improve instructional practices.
  • Develop and deliver professional development sessions for teachers and instructional teams, including evening and weekend sessions.

Data Analysis and Curriculum Support

  • Utilize data to inform action and improvement plans.
  • Use district and campus data to guide professional development focus areas.
  • Model formative assessment techniques for data-driven instruction.
  • Coordinate data findings with campus focus and service delivery.
  • Support the implementation of district curriculum and research-based resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and district leadership to support curriculum implementation.
  • Facilitate professional learning communities and content meetings.
  • Stay informed about district transformation and innovation school models/programs.

Additional Responsibilities

Perform all duties related to the Title I, Part A grant at 100% and comply with time and effort reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Texas Teaching certification preferred, with a focus on Elementary generalist, ELA, Math, Science, or Secondary certification in a subject area.
  • Strong content knowledge and ability to work with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Oracle; adept at using technology as an instructional resource.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in developing and delivering professional development to adult learners.
  • Ability to work independently and serve multiple grade levels.
