Job summary

The Goddard School of Little Rock is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher to guide daily activities with a developmentally appropriate curriculum built around our Wonder of Learning program. You will lead a classroom, support a collaborative team, and partner with families to foster growth in young children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
• 1-2 years of previous experience with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
• Has state-required pre-service training
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in handling children

Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using Wonder of Learning curriculum
• Classroom Management: Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive classroom
• Family Communication: Maintain open, effective communication with families and guardians
• Health and Safety: Supervise children to uphold health and safety standards and licensing regulations
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and training
• Assessment and Documentation: Observe and document children’s learning to inform activities
• Team Collaboration: Support assistants and specialty teachers
• Behavior Guidance: Model positive guidance strategies for social-emotional growth
