Job summary

Actalent in Frankfort, IL seeks a Project Manager – Heavy Industrial Construction to lead industrial projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will coordinate field operations, manage schedules, and support budgets while ensuring safety and quality on site.

The role requires hands-on field coordination, disciplined planning, and strong communication across trades. This is an onsite, contract-to-hire position with Midwest travel and a structured 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction management or industrial construction environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Safety, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Process/Management, or related fields.
• Hands-on field coordination and on-site experience in construction or industrial settings.
• Strong scheduling skills with construction/industrial project scheduling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of industrial construction projects from pre-construction through completion and closeout.
• Lead project planning and scheduling to develop and maintain accurate timelines.
• Coordinate activities across field operations and multiple trades for efficient site execution.
• Support budgeting and cost control by tracking projections and forecasts.
• Provide day-to-day on-site support, tracking progress and participating in project reviews.
• Identify risks, resolve issues, and mitigate schedule delays or cost impacts.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met on site.
• Review projections and reporting to support decision-making by leadership.
• Collaborate with field teams to maintain smooth operations and communication.
• Maintain accurate project schedules and milestones.
