T1 Energy in Waterbury, VT is seeking a Lead Ignition SCADA Engineer with 5+ years of design, development, and deployment of Ignition SCADA solutions and a background in Controls Engineering.

Based in Waterbury, you will own core SCADA systems for Battery Energy Storage Systems and Microgrid integrations, design Perspective views, integrate edge devices, configure alarms and historical logging, and support commissioning and long-term operations.

Qualifications

• Ignition SCADA expertise with Perspective views and reusable templates.
• Python (Jython) programming for event handling and gateway scripts.
• Experience configuring Ignition Gateways, networks, redundancy, and tag structures.
• Experience with Historical Logging, Transaction Groups, and Ignition Reporting.
• Ability to design and image Ignition SCADA servers and edge gateways.

Responsibilities

• Design and configure Ignition Perspective views leveraging established standards and reusable components.
• Integrate Edge Devices: Connect SEL RTACs, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Power Conversion Systems (PCS) using OPC-UA, Modbus/TCP, and DNP3.
• Configure alarms, trends, and reports: Configure historical logging, transaction groups, and automated performance reports.
• Optimize Databases: Design and maintain relational databases like Microsoft SQL for historical analytics.
• Receive and configure SCADA servers and perform or support project commissioning
• Create and maintain technical SCADA documentation including As-Built configurations and O&M.
• Provide controls system design, programming, and commissioning for grid scale Energy Storage systems.
• Work with clients to translate requirements into project specs and deliverables.
• Develop communications datapoint lists for SCADA interfaces.
• Write and execute FAT/OSAT plans and perform field checks.
