Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. The role focuses on automating server repair, building diagnostic tooling, and driving fleet health in a hyperscale environment.

You will analyze data, write automation code, and collaborate with global teams to improve uptime and efficiency. Occasional travel up to 25% is required, and equity/benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in production systems engineering or related fields.
• Experience with hardware lifecycle management and fleet automation at scale.
• Experience developing systems software or automation tooling in Linux environments.
• Experience communicating designs and infrastructure decisions in writing.
• Familiarity with web servers, load balancers, databases, storage and messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify root causes across the server fleet and drive resolutions to maximize uptime.
• Write and maintain code for diagnostic and automation tooling for production servers.
• Own diagnostic tooling requirements for frontline operations teams.
• Drive escalation for tooling and hardware issues affecting fleet health.
• Validate and verify new product integrations into production environments.
• Collaborate with tooling teams to inform roadmaps from an operations perspective.
• Analyze data to priorities automation opportunities for repair workflows.
• Build cross-functional relationships and influence data center practices.
• Mentor engineers on fleet issue resolution and tool improvements.
• Travel up to 25% to support global deployments.
